An elderly man was killed in a house fire in Steuben County Wednesday night.
State Police say the fire broke out just before 8 o’clock at 5050 Hornby Road and the unidentified resident became trapped. Troopers attempted to locate the man to rescue him but were unable to because the home was fully involved.
The cause remains under investigation.
AMR Ambulance, East Campbell Fire Department, Corning Joint Fire Department, Painted Post Fire Department, Steuben County Emergency Services, Beaver Dams Fire Department, Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, and the Hornby Fire Department assisted at the scene.
