$30K Grant to Help Market Schuyler County Business Park

FLX Gateway, the Schuyler County Partnership for Economic Development, has been awarded a $30,000 grant from NYSEG to help promote the Schuyler County Business Park to national site selectors and prospective employers.

The funding comes through NYSEG’s Economic Development Strategic Outreach Program and will support targeted marketing of the 51-acre business park, a New York State REDI Site-Gold designated location.

The park is located along State Route 414 just outside Watkins Glen and includes development-ready space, highlighted by a 19,000-square-foot pre-engineered building with about 11,000 square feet currently available for lease. The site also has municipal water and sewer service from the Town of Dix, three-phase electric and natural gas from NYSEG, fiber broadband, and access to regional highway and rail networks.

FLX Gateway leaders say the grant will help them reach companies and consultants who make location decisions. Board Chair Jon Beckman said the funding will allow the organization to market both the business park and the broader Finger Lakes region directly to national decision-makers, helping attract investment and create jobs.

According to FLX Gateway CEO Judy McKinney Cherry, the money will be used to attend national site selection conferences and professional forums, including events hosted by the Site Selectors Guild, and to boost the park’s presence on online site-selection platforms with updated marketing materials that highlight its infrastructure and REDI Gold status.

Officials say the goal is to increase visibility and position Schuyler County to compete for new manufacturing and year-round business opportunities.
