A large barn was destroyed by fire in Yates County Thursday afternoon
The two-alarm fire at 3574 Prosser Road in the town of Jerusalem was reported by a delivery driver at around 12:30 p.m. Firefighters from Branchport, Keuka Park, Himrod, Penn Yan, Benton, Potter, and Pulteney responded to the scene. They were able to bring the fire under control in about one hour.
Upon investigation, it was determined to be caused by a wood stove or possibly electrical.
The Office of Emergency Management and Yates County Ambulance also responded to the scene.
