Crypto-Mining Lawsuit Arguments Tuesday In Yates County

Oral arguments in the lawsuit brought by Greenidge Generation LLC against the state Department of Environmental Conservation will be heard in State Supreme Court Tuesday.

The town of Torrey crypto-mining plant on Seneca Lake in Dresden is suing the DEC over its denial of an air permit renewal.

Arguments will be heard by State Supreme Court Justice Vincent DiNolfo at 10 a.m. in the Yates County courthouse.

The Greenidge plant is a former New York State Gas & Electric plant built in 1937. NYSEG closed the plant in the 1990s.
