Environmental cleanup at the former Philips Lighting Company on State Route 54 in Bath will soon resume.

The site is currently vacant. The approximately 335,000-square-foot facility that previously existed on the site was demolished three years ago. To prepare the site for additional cleanup, the removal of the existing concrete slab and parking lot started in April, which allowed for the removal of contaminated soil underneath.

Cleanup activities are expected to continue through October.
