Two People Killed in Yates County Accident

An accident at the intersection of Friend Road and West Sherman Hollow Road in Yates County Saturday night killed two people.

According to the Sheriff’s Department, 69-year-old Steven Wolfe, of Bath was traveling southeast on Friend Road when he apparently failed to round a curve near Italy Friend Road, drove off the road, and rolled the car over several times before it came to rest in the ditch. Wolfe and 65-year-old Deborah Wolfe were both pronounced dead at the scene.

The Yates County Accident Reconstruction Unit is continuing to look into what led to the accident.

Branchport/Keuka Park Fire, Penn Yan Ambulance, Yates County EMS, Yates County OES, Yates County Highway and the Yates County Coroner’s Office assisted the Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
