An economic blow to Tompkins County as an employer of approximately 1,500 workers in Tompkins County plans on closing one of its Ithaca facilities.
WSYR television in Syracuse reports BorgWarner will be closing its valvetrain production facility on Warren Road.
A spokesperson said the closure at the automotive manufacturer will take place next year and all activities will be consolidated into existing BorgWarner facilities by the end of 2024.
