A Bath Police Officer suffered minor injuries after his patrol car was rear-ended at the scene of a crash on Interstate 86 Saturday.

State Police were investigating a crash involving a Mazda CX5 that had struck the guardrail between Exits 38 and 39 on the westbound side shortly after 10 Saturday morning. Troopers requested Bath units to the scene to help with traffic. WETM in Elmira reports soon after, a Nissan Rogue rear-ended one patrol car on the scene. The officer, who was not identified, was taken to Ira Davenport Hospital.  I-86 was closed at exit 39 for several hours while crews worked the scene.

Charges are pending against the driver of the Nissan Rogue, who has yet to be identified.
