Farmers and agricultural professionals across the Finger Lakes are invited to attend an upcoming workshop focused on soil health and nutrient management later this month.

The Ontario County Soil and Water Conservation District and Yates County Soil and Water Conservation District will host their annual Soil Health and Nutrient Management Workshop on February 24 at Tomion’s Event Center in Penn Yan. The event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Organizers say the workshop will cover a range of timely topics for local agriculture, including soil health practices, late-season cover crops, pest management strategies, and other best management techniques.

Participants can earn 1.75 pesticide applicator credits and four Certified Crop Advisor credits.

Registration costs $20 in advance or $25 at the door. To register, contact the Yates County Soil and Water Conservation District at 315-536-5188. More details, including the full agenda, are available through the districts.
