A Wolcott man is facing multiple charges after a multi-agency pursuit throughout the Finger Lakes Tuesday night.

According to State Police, Cayuga County Emergency Dispatch received the report of the unauthorized use of a 2004 Chevy Suburban just before 6:30p. They then relayed this information to area law enforcement agencies.

Rochester Police tried to conduct a traffic stop of the vehicle roughly an hour later on SR 104 which quickly turned into a pursuit. Troopers assisted in the pursuit until losing sight of the vehicle on Lake Road in the Town of Webster near the Monroe/Wayne County line.

Troopers out of Williamson were able to locate the SUV before it crashed on Furnace and Lake Roads in the Town of Ontario. 25-year-old Jacob Gonyeau then fled on foot but was taken into custody shortly after.

He was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, Unlawful Fleeing of a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle, Reckless Driving, Driving While Intoxicated, Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident, and several traffic infractions.

Gonyeau was taken to Wayne County Jail for CAP arraignment.
