Wayne County Sex Offender Arrested

A State Police investigation into the alleged sexual abuse of a child has resulted in the arrest of a Level Two Sex Offender from Wayne County.

Daniel Caldwell is accused of subjecting a child under the age of 15 to sexual contact on more than one occasion in the town of Ontario. The investigation of the 32-year-old Ontario man started after the victim’s grandmother learned of the alleged abuse and alerted authorities.

Caldwell was convicted in 2008 of sexually abusing a 10-year-old. He served 10 years on probation.

Now, Caldwell is charged with felony criminal sexual act and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child and sexual abuse.
