Wayne County sheriff’s Deputies say a recovery effort is now underway in Sodus Bay to find a person who was ejected from a motorboat Sunday night.
Deputies say the boat made a hard turn, ejecting two people. Police say a woman was rescued from the bay and airlifted to the hospital by Mercy Flight. Meanwhile, police are still searching male operator of the boat.
The search involves the Sheriff’s Marine Patrol and Dive Team. The search will continue today. Multiple agencies, including the New York State Police Aviation Unit and the US Coast Guard, assisted in last night’s response.
Other agencies on the scene included the Sodus Point, Alton, and North Rose Fire Departments, Eastern Wayne and Silver Waters Ambulances, Wayne County EMS, and Mercy Flight.
