Town of Ontario Issues Boil Water Advisory

A pot of water boils on a gas stovetop in a kitchen.

The Town of Ontario advised its residents on Sunday of a water main break at the intersection of Knickerbocker and Lake Road. A boil water advisory has been issued for the next 48 hours, though officials say it is unknown when full water service will be restored.

Residents are asked to take the following precautions:

Boil all water used for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, making ice, and washing dishes. Water should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute and then cooled before use.
Bottled water may be used as an alternative.
Bathing and laundry can continue as normal, but avoid swallowing the water.

The advisory will remain in effect until further notice. Updates will be posted by the Town of Ontario as soon as the situation changes.

A map of the affected area is available from town officials.
