Thompson Health Expands Urgent Care Hours

In an exam room, a doctor bandages a young boy's arm.

Patients will soon have expanded access to urgent care services as Thompson Health extends operating hours at all three of its urgent care centers.

Beginning Sunday, each location will be open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Patient registration will be accepted until 7:45 p.m. nightly.

The extended hours apply to centers in:

Canandaigua – 699 S. Main St.
Farmington – 1160 Corporate Drive
Newark – 800 W. Miller St.

Grant Alef, director of emergency medicine administration for Thompson Health, said improving patient access is the primary reason for the change.

“A necessary component of serving our patients and community is being accessible, and this change provides consistent availability at all three locations,” Alef said. “It should help patients avoid delays in care and contribute to overall better outcomes and service.”

Executive Vice President and COO Kurt Koczent said the expanded hours build on the urgent care team’s strong performance. According to Press Ganey patient satisfaction surveys, Thompson’s urgent care centers rank in the 97th percentile overall, with the Canandaigua site reaching the 99th percentile.

“These results reflect our strong culture of quality, compassionate care, and our commitment to delivering an exceptional patient experience,” Koczent said.

Officials say the new schedule is intended to provide more convenient, reliable care for patients throughout the region.
