The driver of an SUV was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital after colliding with a State DOT snowplow on State Route 31 Saturday night.

According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, 70-year-old David Brandt left his lane of travel, crossed over into the oncoming lane, and collided head-on with the plow.

Brandt suffered undisclosed injuries and was taken to Rochester by ambulance. The driver of the plow was not hurt.

The investigation is ongoing.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by Wayne County Ambulance, Marbletown Fire Department, and Newark Ambulance

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
