Eight people, including six children, were able to safely escape their burning home in Ontario County late Saturday night.
When firefighters arrived at 6557 Powel Hill Road in South Bristol at around 11:30 they spotted flames coming from the second story of the home near the chimney. Despite the quick efforts of Naples and Bristol firefighters in putting out the fire, the home sustained significant damage and was rendered uninhabitable.
Despite American Red Cross assistance being offered, Andrew Toulson made housing arrangements for his wife and their six kids.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Ontario County Fire Coordinator’s Office.
