Next month marks 38 years since Minnesota college student was murdered in Seneca County.

In August 1985 Kristin O’Connell had traveled to Ovid to a man she met in Florida over Spring Break. The day after she arrived, Kristin called her mother from a payphone and told her she was cutting her trip short.  Her body was found in cornfield, she had been stabbed and her throat was cut.

No suspect has ever been named by police in the case.

Last month, billboards appeared along roads near Ovid advertising a phone number to call with any information about the O’Connell’s murder.
