Report: Purchase Agreement Signed for State to Buy Camp Barton

Another step has been taken for the state to take over ownership to purchase a Seneca County Boys Scout camp.

A purchase agreement between the state Department of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation and Binghamton-based Baden-Powell Council of the Boys Scouts of America to buy Camp Barton has been signed. A report in Monday’s Finger Lakes Times states the sale prices and other details are being ironed out.

The camp is being sold by the Baden-Powell Council to help pay for sexual abuse settlements.
