A 320-page report outlines alternative scenarios for Ontario County’s refuse management, including expansion of the current landfill, siting a new landfill, incineration, landfill closure, and development of a transfer station for hauling waste to landfill sites outside the county.
A Florida consulting firm has spent 14-months preparing the report. It makes no recommendation on the future of solid-waste management in the county.
The Ontario County Board of Supervisors will make decisions on the landfill’s future by the end of the year.
