A Wayne County man was struck and killed by an alleged drunk driver early Tuesday morning.

Rochester Police say Gene Kulp pulled his tractor-trailer over to the side of the road at Lexington Avenue and Curlew Street in the city shortly after one o’clock for an apparent mechanical issue. The 51-year-old Red Creek man was then struck by a minivan, which pinned him against the back of his tractor-trailer, killing him.

The driver of the vehicle, 53-year-old Jeff Eden, stayed at the scene and was charged with vehicular manslaughter and driving while intoxicated.
