Police Credit First Responders and Volunteers In Search Effort

Seneca Falls Police released this picture of the woman they were searching for last weekend. She was identified only as "Bonnie".

A large-scale search effort last weekend in Seneca Falls ended with a local woman suffering from dementia being found and returned to her family.

The search began Friday night near the Northeast College of Health Sciences on Route 89.  Police were called when a 71-year-old woman was discovered missing.  Police and firefighters used a Lifenet Helicopter, drones, and dogs in the search.  DEC Forest Rangers found the woman around 8:30 Saturday morning, she had fallen into a small hole in some high grass and stayed there overnight.

Seneca Falls Police Chief Tim Snyder credits the work of first responders and volunteers that helped in the search effort.
