On Wednesday, the Palmyra Police Department arrested a woman and a juvenile following an investigation into an incident where a middle school student allegedly ingested LSD.

The investigation began on September 19, 2025, when officers assisted EMS at Pal-Mac Middle School for a student who required hospitalization. Police allege the child ingested the illegal substance after obtaining it from a shared living space within a home on Cuyler Street.

On Wednesday, a juvenile offender was arrested and charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Reckless Endangerment in the Second Degree. The juvenile was processed and released to a legal guardian with appearance tickets for Wayne County Probation.

Later that afternoon, Andrea Allen-Ascioti, 39, of Palmyra, was arrested and charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child. She was transported to the Wayne County Jail and was released following arraignment.

Authorities confirmed that an Order of Protection would be sought during the proceedings.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
