Police have arrested a local contractor they say was paid thousands of dollars for work he never completed.

67-year-old Wade Snyder of Lyons was hired last September by a Phelps resident for concrete work. Investigators with the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office say after Snyder took a $5,000 down payment for the job, he allegedly spent the money on personal expenses.

Snyder was arrested on grand larceny charges this week after failing on several occasions to reimburse the victim.
