A woman charged in connection with the murder of a transgender man is now facing additional charges after an alleged assault inside the Ontario County Jail.

According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, Jennifer Quijano, who is also known as “Brooklyn,” allegedly struck another inmate in the face and head on July 31. She was arraigned on assault charges in CAP Court and returned to custody at the county jail.

Quijano is already facing a series of serious charges related to the death of Sam Nordquist, a transgender man who was reported missing earlier this year

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
