UPDATE: One Person Killed in Ontario County Two-Car Crash

6:00 p.m. UPDATE

The New York State Police say the crash occurred February 7 around 1:11 p.m. A southbound 2025 Kia K4 crossed into the northbound lane and was struck by a northbound 2020 Dodge Ram.

The driver of the Kia, 45-year-old James Hughes of Syracuse, and rear passenger 39-year-old James Bush, also of Syracuse, were seriously injured and taken to Strong Memorial Hospital. 47-year-old Edwin Montanez, also from Syracuse, was sitting in the passenger seat. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Dodge driver, 30-year-old Nathaniel Blakely of Williamson, was treated and released.

State Route 14A was closed for the investigation but has since reopened. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing, and no further information is available at this time.

New York State Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred Saturday afternoon on State Route 14A near Hastings Road in the town of Seneca.

Troopers from the State Police Canandaigua Uniform Force and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation responded to the scene at approximately 2:00 p.m. Emergency personnel confirmed that the collision resulted in one fatality.

State Route 14A remained closed for several hours as investigators worked at the scene.

No additional details have been released, and the investigation is ongoing.
