Firefighters from seven departments responded to a house fire Tuesday afternoon in the hamlet of Alton in the town of Sodus.
The call came in around 4:30 p.m. for a home on Ridge Road. Crews had the fire largely under control in two hours, though they remained on scene to locate and put out hot spots.
Officials said no residents or firefighters were injured. The home sustained extensive damage on both the first and second floors.
