No Decision On Town Permit For Seneca Meadows Landfill

The Seneca Falls Town Board again has tabled a vote on granting a zoning permit for the Seneca Meadows Landfill.

Last night, after several town residents spoke out against the landfill, the board decided to revisit the issue in December.  The issue was tabled back in May.

The town permit is not necessary for the landfill to operate because it is superseded by its state operating permit, which expires at the end of next year. Seneca Meadows has applied for a state permit to continue operating through 2040.

The plan is to add 47 acres of newly lined landfill area and increase the height by 70 feet.
