State funding for the reconstruction of a critical culvert is on the way for one Wayne County village.

The East Maple Avenue project in Newark will receive almost $1.3 million in funding as part of Governor Kathy Hochul’s recent announcement of nearly $84 million in grant funds for Bridge NY projects.

The State’s Bridge NY initiative supports projects that will reduce the risk of flooding and improve the resiliency of structures.
