A Newark man arrested late last month in Wayne County during a traffic stop after an unregistered loaded handgun was found under the driver’s seat is now facing charges in Geneva for a shooting that occurred back in June.

Following a disturbance at a Lewis Street home on June 30th, police say Michael Soliday fired a single gunshot into the home with the intent to injure or kill someone. The 21-year-old Soliday was charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon.

Police did not indicate if the gun found during the August 26th traffic stop was the same gun used in the Geneva shooting.
