The Southern Tier man shot by police in Canandaigua earlier this year has been indicted on menacing charges.

On May 1st, police responded to the 7-Eleven on South Main Street for a suspicious person complaint. A Canandaigua Police officer shot Thomas Johnson, of Elmira, after Johnson twice pulled out what appeared to be a handgun and pointed it at police. The 34-year-old Elmira man was taken to Strong following the shooting.

At last word, Johnson was being held at the Ontario County Jail for arraignment.
