Kitchen Fire Causes Minor Damage at Farmington Apartment

A kitchen fire was quickly contained Saturday morning at an apartment complex in Farmington, allowing all residents to escape safely without injuries.

Emergency crews were called to 1799 Stoney Way, Apartment F, just before 10 a.m. after a structure fire was reported. A responding sheriff’s deputy used a fire extinguisher to suppress a fire involving items on a stovetop.

Firefighters from Farmington, Victor, New York, and Canandaigua, New York arrived shortly afterward to ventilate the apartment and ensure the scene was safe.

Officials said all occupants evacuated the building without incident. No injuries were reported. Authorities said damage was limited to the stove and minor smoke accumulation.

The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental.
