The Army Corps of Engineers and the Department of Environmental Conservations are once again trying to eradicate Hydrilla from Cayuga Lake using herbicides.
According tot he Cayuga County Health Department, the treatment will begin the week of June 26 and run through August.
Totaling ten treatments, the army corps will put up signs along the lake when the herbicides are applied. The health department will monitor water quality and they say there will be no restrictions on drinking, fishing, swimming, or boating during the application.
Hydrilla is an invasive plant that can grow up to 30ft in length.
