A critical shortage of permanent housing in Seneca County has prompted an emergency executive order.
Board of Supervisors Chairman Michael Enslow issued the order on Tuesday, declaring a state of emergency within the county. The order directs all available county resources to be utilized to address the immediate need for housing development.
It further states that residential housing development will remain a priority for the county until housing is able to meet countywide demands.
The order will remain in effect for 30 days unless rescinded or amended.
