A man connected to a fatal hit-and-run in the city of Rochester, who was tracked down and arrested in Ontario County, is now headed to state prison.

52-year-old Bruce Bugbee was sentenced in Monroe County Court on Tuesday to two and one-third to seven years behind bars for first-degree vehicular assault. Police say Bugbee struck a 62-year-old bicyclist with his pickup truck near Norton and North Streets in February of last year, then fled the scene. Investigators say he was intoxicated and had a child in the vehicle at the time.

State Police later located him in Ontario County, where he was taken into custody on charges including vehicular manslaughter and aggravated DWI under Leandra’s Law.
