A new committee appointment will make it easier for one state senator to promote tourism in the Finger Lakes.

State Senator Pam Helming has been named a member of the Cultural Affairs, Tourism, and Parks and Recreation Committee. With this role, she hopes to help grow small businesses throughout the state and advocate for Finger Lakes tourism.

“It is an honor to be named as a member of the Committee for Cultural Affairs, Tourism, and Parks and Recreation. The Finger Lakes region is a top destination drawing visitors from across the country to our beautiful lakes, environment, wineries, and craft breweries. I look forward to my new role on this committee as tourism continues to be a major driver in helping to grow our small businesses and economy across the region and state,” Helming said.

Helming is also a member of the committees on Agriculture; Rules; Commerce; Economic Development and Small Business; Legislative Women’s Caucus; and Racing, Gaming, and Wagering. She will also continue as the ranking member of the Housing, Construction and Community Development, Insurance, and Legislative Commission on Rural Resources.
