Geneva’s Glorious Garlic Festival may not take place this year.
The Finger Lakes Times reports the Geneva Downtown Business Improvement District is looking for someone or group to take over the festival. The festival was too much work for the BID staff and cost over $50,000. The BID estimates it could cost upwards of $70,000 this year.
There was no admission charge for the festival.
Tomorrow, when they meet, the Business Improvement Board of Directors will continue to look for a new promoter for the event.
The August festival, on the Geneva lakefront, last year drew about 22,000 people.
