Finger Lakes residents will have a chance to explore late-winter bird life and learn about owl conservation during a guided “Owl Prowl” program in early March.
The event, hosted by the Seneca Meadows Education Center and the Montezuma Audubon Center, is scheduled for Saturday, March 7, at 4 p.m. Participants will meet at the education center before traveling by carpool to several locations to search for owls and other birds.
Organizers say the program is designed to introduce participants to birding, with a focus on owls and habitat conservation, while offering a hands-on outdoor experience.
The free event is open to all ages, including individuals, families, and underserved community members. However, space is limited, and advance registration is required.
Participants are asked to arrive by 3:45 p.m. at the education center, located at 1977 Route 414 in Waterloo, New York.
Registration and additional details are available at:

The program is part of ongoing educational efforts connected to the nearby Seneca Meadows Wetland Preserve, which promotes wildlife habitat protection and public environmental awareness.
