Firefighters in Border City, Seneca Falls, and Waterloo were very busy after storms moved through Seneca County Wednesday afternoon and early evening.
At one point, Seneca County Fire Control estimated over 100 basements were flooded, threatening utilities in homes in the Waterloo and Seneca Falls.

Clyde, Fayette, and the Varick Fire Departments were called in with their pumps to help move water.
All train traffic on the Finger Lakes Railway was shut down for the night as there were reports of washed out tracks along Fall Street in Seneca Falls.
At one point water covered River Road as well as West and East Bayard Streets in Seneca Falls.
It took until 2 a.m. Thursday morning before all the firefighters were back in service, finished with pumping out homes.
Many Geneva streets also saw flooding around the city.
