FLCC Student Awarded Sheriff’s Institute Scholarship

A Farmington man has been awarded the 2024 New York State Sheriffs’ Institute Criminal Justice Scholarship.

The $500 award was presented to Mason Thompson by Ontario County Sheriff David Cirencione. The scholarship is given annually to a student pursuing a career in criminal justice while maintaining academic excellence. Mason was selected by his professors at Finger Lakes Community College for the scholarship award.

Thompson said his ultimate goal is to become a police officer.
