A former teacher in Geneva has been arrested following an investigation into allegations she provided a controlled substance to a minor.
According to the Geneva Police Department, detectives with the department’s bureau arrested 33-year-old Trista Corey on Tuesday and charged her with endangering the welfare of a child. Police allege the incident occurred in December 2025 at Corey’s home, where she is accused of giving a person under 17 psilocybin mushrooms.
Corey, a former middle school teacher with the Geneva City School District, was processed at the police department and issued an appearance ticket for Geneva City Court at a later date.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing in coordination with the Ontario County District Attorney’s Office and the school district.
District officials said in a statement that they notified law enforcement as soon as they became aware of the allegations and addressed Corey’s employment status. She is no longer employed by the district. Administrators added that student and staff safety remains their top priority and that the middle school continues normal operations.
Anyone with additional information regarding Corey is urged to contact the Geneva Police Department at 315-828-6771 or Detective Daniel Hickey at 315-828-6781. All tips can remain anonymous.
