An emergency room physician at Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua has joined the ranks of the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
Dr. Scott Glick is now a part-time road patrol deputy after taking a leave of absence from the hospital in August and putting himself through the rural police academy at SUNY Potsdam, which concluded in December. Glick, who joined the Oaks Corners Fire Department in 2020, became interested in the work conducted by police through his fire and EMS duties.
After finishing up some academy-level training, Dr. Glick will begin road patrol field training next month.
