Canandaigua Man Charged for FLCC Shelter in Place Incident

State Police have charged the man who was responsible for the shelter in place at Finger Lakes Community College on Tuesday.

48-year-old Shawn Thomas is accused of making threatening remarks and threatening another person with a knife several times during an incident that occurred near the Hopewell campus on County Road 50. After the police were called, Thomas fled in the direction of campus on a bicycle and entered a classroom building. He was taken into custody about 30 minutes later.

The Canandaigua man was charged with menacing and was brought to Ontario County Jail for arraignment.
