Bicyclist Injured in Seneca Lake State Park Crash

A bicyclist was injured following a collision with a car inside Seneca Lake State Park.

Police say Gale McClellan of Bloomfield was struck while making a left turn on her bicycle. The driver, 83-year-old John Gifford of Waterloo, failed to stop at a stop sign and hit McClellan, according to the investigation. McClellan was transported to Geneva General Hospital for treatment.

Gifford was issued a traffic ticket for Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign.

North Seneca Ambulance and the Border City Fire Department assisted at the scene.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
