A Honeoye man has been arrested following a multi-week investigation into a construction equipment incident in the Town of Bristol.

Authorities say Eric Button, 38, is charged with second-degree assault after allegedly operating a track loader recklessly on January 26. During the incident, Button reportedly struck a 35-year-old man with the machinery, causing serious physical injuries.

Button was processed and arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Part. He was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Bristol Town Court at a later date to face the charge.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
