Aggravated DWI Charge Filed After Lyons Stop

A 49-year-old Geneva man was arrested late Thursday on drunken driving charges following a vehicle complaint in Lyons, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s deputies said they were investigating a traffic-related complaint around 10 p.m. Feb. 12 when they located a vehicle pulling into a parking lot at a local business in Lyons.

During their interaction with the driver, deputies observed signs of impairment. Authorities said standardized field sobriety tests were administered, and the driver was later taken to the Sheriff’s Office for a breath test.

Investigators said the test showed a blood alcohol content of 0.18.

Dale Frey, a 49-year-old man from Lenox Road in the Town of Geneva, was charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated.

Frey was processed and released and is scheduled to appear in Lyons Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
