On Monday, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested Janet Soper, age 64, of North Rose, following an investigation into a vehicle and traffic complaint in the Town of Sodus.
Deputies responded to State Route 104 for a report of a vehicle off the south side of the roadway. Upon arrival, deputies located Soper’s vehicle stuck in a ditch. While speaking with Soper, who was seated in the driver’s seat, deputies allegedly detected the odor of alcohol.
Following a battery of standardized field sobriety tests, Soper was taken into custody. At the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, she submitted to a chemical test, which reportedly yielded a .17% Blood Alcohol Content. Soper was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Driving with a Blood Alcohol Content of .08% or Greater, and Moving from Lane Unsafely.
Soper was transported to the Wayne County Jail for processing and released on traffic tickets. She is scheduled to appear in the Town of Sodus Court at a later date to answer the charges.
