Farmers in Cayuga County will be able to seek emergency loans through the USDA’s Farm Service Agency after the county was designated as a primary natural disaster area following a wind storm that blew through the area on January 9th.

That was the same storm that caused thousands of dollars in damage to the roof of the Cayuga County Office Building. The emergency loans can be used for certain purposes, including the replacement of equipment and livestock. Farmers in Seneca, Tompkins, and Wayne counties are also eligible.

The deadline to apply is the end of next March.
