Two members of the Auburn School Board say they’re interested in the open leadership positions on the board. The Auburn Citizen quotes Jim Van Arsdale as saying he’d like to be President. Matteo Bartolotta says she’d like to be Vice President. Van Arsdale, a fifth grade teacher in Moravia, founded the non-profit youth musical group Perform 4 Purpose. He’s serving his second term. Bartolotta was elected to a second term as a write-in after originally deciding not to run. No other members are known to be interested in the leadership posts. Current President Dr. Eli Hernandez endorsed the duo at this month’s board meeting. Neither he nor Vice President Danielle Wood want to continue in their current roles. Any interested member can declare for one of the spots at the board’s July 2 meeting.
