When kids return to school at the Weedsport Central School District, there will be a change to how security is handled.
Through a partnership with the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, the office will provide a Special Patrol Officer to the district.
The change was approved in May as part of the $22.3 million budget for the 2023-34 school year after the Village of Weedsport announced it would stop providing the district with a School Resource Officer.
