During a visit to Auburn Monday, Senator Charles Schumer made a stop at Nucor Steel to discuss what the federal government must do to level the field with China for American steel makers like Nucor.

The Senate Majority Leader said the Biden Administration is tripling the existing tariff rate on Chinese steel and aluminum imports, but he said more needs to be done to close a loophole that allows Chinese products to enter the U.S. through Mexico.

Auburn Mayor Jimmy Giannettino thanked Schumer for protecting American jobs.
